Find a Dog Sitter Now for Summer Vacation

Published by amyb at 10:15 am under Dog Care Edit This

My family and I enjoy traveling, but our dog, Maggie, is not so fond of car trips. There are also plenty of places we travel to that it wouldn’t be practical or permissible to bring a dog along. Since we’ve had her, we’ve had a wonderful pet sitter who stayed at our house with her whenever we traveled. Unfortunately, she’s no longer pet sitting, and we are planning a week long vacation over the summer. I hate the idea of kenneling her for the week. I know she would be well cared for at our veterinarian’s office, but I just wouldn’t be able to enjoy myself knowing she’s spending the week in a cage while the rest of us are having a great time.

With this in mind, I’ve started to contact pet sitters. Much to my surprise, the summer seems to be quickly booking up for many dog sitters, especially if I want to have them do overnights. So I just thought I would remind you, if you’re planning on taking a trip this summer, now is the time to book a dog sitter!

Some places to start your search are the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and craigslist.org.
